Hello Families and welcome to our day in Babies 3,

This morning Miss Otavia and Miss Jade welcomed Isla, Winston, Parker, Bella, Adeleine, Jhye, Matthew and Valencia with lots of cuddles.

We started our day exploring indoor experiences with babies two friends until we separate into our own rooms. In the morning we all engaged on the activities that were set up in the room such as dinosaurs, music instruments, cars, pretend play in the home corner blocks, chainsaw and dolls. Miss Otavia sat down on the mat then Jhye come close with his xylophone and showed her. Miss Otavia then grabbed a drum and started playing. Jhye let his xylophone on the side and starts playing the drum with Otavia. Parker soon came to join us, and she brings some dolls to Miss Otavia saying “babies”. Isla is always busy making food at the home corner. Adeleine spent a lot of time with the dollies too, she found a dummy for her dolly, and she walked around holding the dummy up to her dolls mouth. Parker asked Miss Otavia for “Shark”, then Bella repeated “yeah shark”. We all became very excited and began doing the actions to Baby Shark. After that, Bella said “sleeping bunnies” then Jhye came to join us.

For morning tea, we enjoyed Homemade Beans on sourdough Turkish. Then it was time to engage with our planned experience. This week we are working on Dental Health, so Miss Otavia created the opportunity to let the children do a painting inspired by the colour and shape of teeth. Miss Otavia set up a large tray with white painting, some building blocks and red paper. Miss Jade separate the children in two groups of 4 and invited them to experience the activity. They all seem to enjoy a lot of painting activities. Winston enjoyed the noise he could make with the blocks when he was stamping on the paper. Bella loved the experience and she asked for more painting.

During outdoor play, our friends enjoyed the large, coloured water bottles, the slide, and also book time. Winston enjoyed standing on the bottles and balancing while holding onto the fence for support. He would then slowly let it roll out underneath his feet. Our friends also took turns going down the slide. They lined up and waited while the first person went down. Miss Jade also read a few books which the children engaged with thoroughly. They were learning how to distinguish between different emotions and also fruits. Miss Jade was sitting outside with Parker chatting about names and Miss Jade starts pointing to the other children asking Parker “what’s their name?”. Parker demonstrated her good communication skill saying all the names to Miss Jade.

For lunch we enjoyed a yummy Rainbow Sushi bowl. After we finished our lunch some of us enjoyed our bottles as we drifted off to sleep on our mattress to some soft relaxing music. For afternoon tea we will be enjoying some Amazing Organic chocolate zucchini “beany” cake. We practiced our self-help skills by using spoons for mealtime to feed ourselves, put the hats on, find the drink bottles, find the water bottles, and wash our hands. Our new goal is encouraging children to put their dishes, bibs and drink bottles away in the baskets after mealtime.

Our afternoon play was child led as we explored our outdoor environment.

Just a reminder the parent hub which is located just outside our room with all our babies’ journals in the basket. Please feel free to take your child’s journal home at any time. All we ask is you fill in the date you take the journal and the date in which you return it. Thank you and enjoy. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to either myself or Miss Otavia.  😊

Much love Miss Otavia and Miss Jade xx
