Monday 1st June 2020.
Hi everyone from Miss Kate and Miss Lilly joining you from the Babies 1 Room who have loved having your little cherubs today! We trust you all had wonderful weekends and isn’t it great news that some of our restrictions are being eased for making the most of these beautiful days!
First day of winter today didn’t stop us from getting some much enjoyed fresh air as we practice our physical gross motors skills outside with some obstacles to explore, including the big soft blocks to climb, the rocking dinosaurs, our tent with dolls and books and the sandpit is always a favourite.
It was lovely to welcome back Oliver to our room today who has grown so much and we are so proud of how well he fitted back into his play environment and routines here already. Miss Kate intentionally planned to continue with RECONCILIATION WEEK this week with Oliver participating in dot paintings for his art book today which is a great way to extend his creativity skills as he uses the cotton buds with yellow, red and black colours.
Every day Edward runs over to the basket to get the balls out to play with and today was no exception practicing his throwing skills as he ran and chased after them with a big cheeky smile.
Olive, Peyton and Parker were all super cute girls this morning giving Miss Kate beautiful big smiles as we all looked at picture books together. Vygotsky believed that language and communication is key for children’s learning and this fits under LEARNING OUTCOME 5 of the EARLY YEARS LEARNING FRAMEWORK too – ‘Children are effective communicators’ which can be verbal and non-verbal too.
We hope you all had a great start to the week as much as we did! Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with as we will be happy to help you anytime.
Until next time – take care!
