Hello families, welcome to Monday in Babies 3.
Our morning began bright an early in Toddlers 1 where we welcomed Winston and our newest little friend Jhye. Winston sat down to eat a yummy apple before engaging with all the different tools. He found a spanner, screws and a screwdriver and was banging them together. Miss Mel gave Jhye lots of cuddles as today is his very first day with us at kindy. We headed over to Babies 2. Jhye loved the sensory tiles, he began roaring like the dinosaurs he could see on the tiles, some friends came over to join Jhye and we all roared like dinosaurs together.
Mel played peek a boo with Winston behind the pink scarf, he was giggling and saying “more”. Jhye and Winston sat on the mat together for some quiet time, flicking through books. Mel sat with her friends and read the ABC book. Jhye then joined his new friend over at the sensory blocks, looking through them as Mel named all the different colours. Soon lots of our friends joined in.
Parker arrived and we decided to explore outside. We popped our sunscreen on and found our hats. Parker ran over to the see saw, rocking back and forth. Jhye was climbing on the soft blocks, every now and then he would rest his head and smile at Mel. Theo arrived and thought he would try his very best to throw the red ball over the fence, he spent a long time practicing his throwing skills. We then welcomed Valencia and Isla. Valencia headed straight over to the mat and began looking through some books. She later kicked and chased the ball, Valencia also spent lots of time going up and down the slide. Isla gave Miss Mel big cuddles and began exploring the yard, the mower today was popular with Isla. Mel gave Isla a few slides on the slippery dip too, looking up at Mel with that beautiful smile, Isla loved the slide! Parker instigated a game of peek a boo with Winston from behind the pole, they giggled together as they played.
It was time to head inside for some yummy morning tea. We washed our hands and made our way over to the table to put our bibs on. Waiting patiently and drinking big sips of water while Miss Otavia served up our morning tea.
After morning tea, we enjoyed free play inside. Today we are focusing on helping Jhye feel safe, secure, and supported as he settles in his new learning environment. Jhye has been amazing today, at times there were a few tears however there were also lots of smiles through the tears as Jhye engaged in play, loving the musical instruments, the doll house, home corner and of course there were lots of balls both inside and outside as we know Jhye loves chasing the balls. Role playing jhye picked up the toy phone, holding it up to his ear as he walked around the room. We are so proud of you Jhye what a wonderful first day you are having.
Parker asked Mel for “Shark” so we all danced and did the actions to Baby Shark together. Jhye and Theo joined in too. Theo has also had wonderful day today, hardly any tears and was happy and confident in his environment and with his educators.
Our friend Matthew arrived. Mel welcomed Matthew with lots of cuddles. Matthew ran over to picking up one of the balls in our room and began throwing and chasing it. Valencia, Winston, Parker also spent time in home corner mixing and cooking up a storm.
Miss Otavia sat with Winston, Valencia, Parker and Theo and showed them how to use the spinning toy and encouraged them to take turns.
It was time for Yoga!! We headed back outside where we all sat together and practiced our breathing techniques and stretches, we particularly like the ball that opened and closed. Practicing our sharing skills by taking turns.
It was time for lunch. Miss Mel set up all the beds, lowered the blinds and played some soft relaxing music as we all washed our hands and enjoyed our lunch. As we finished, we cleaned up and laid down on our beds. Drifting off for a nice long nap. Ready for more exploring this afternoon.
I would like to give a huge welcome to Miss Otavia who officially joined our Babies 3 room today. We are so excited to have you join us!! All our little friends are already bonding with you.
What a wonderful way to start the week!!
See you all very soon.
Miss Melinda and Miss Otavia. xxx
