Hello families, welcome to Friday in Babies 3,

This morning we welcomed Isla, Bella, Daris, Adeleine, Jhye, Valencia, Matthew and our little friend Franka from Babies 1, with lots of cuddles as they settled into their learning environment.

Our morning began over in the Babies 2 room while we waited for more friends to arrive. When Miss Otavia arrived, we all went outside for a little play before morning tea. Miss Otavia opened up the sandpit and all our friends eagerly jumped in. There was lots of digging and scooping up the sand. Isla was digging the sand out from inside the buckets. Jhye was exploring while pushing the mower around the yard. Franka enjoyed the dinosaur seesaw moving forward and backwards. We all sat together outside to sing our transition song  ‘Bee, bee bumble bee”. As we said or tried our very best to say our names we washed our hands and sat down for morning tea. Today we had Mango Tango Coconut Granola Cups.

Miss Jen from Funky Feet walked in the door, Yay!! More dancing!!! We all sat on the mat with Miss Jen and did our stretches together before dancing. We danced to “Buzzy Bee”, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and toes and lots more!! Jhye, Daris, Matthew and Bella were so enthusiastic, showing us the greatest moves and they danced around the room. Isla, Franka, Adeleine and Valencia joined in at times however they were in awe of Miss Jen watching her demonstrating the moves. We had so much fun jumping and twirling around.

For White Balloon Day Miss Otavia set up an activity on the table with white cottons, glue and blank paper to make their own white balloons. The children took turns to sit with Miss Otavia inside while our friends explored their outside environment. Jhye was the first one e he grabbed a full hand of cottons and glued on the paper. Daris and Valencia enjoyed a lot and they asked for more cottons to stick. They all used their eye-coordination to fill it up all the spaces. Meanwhile outside, Adeleine sat quietly on the mat looking through some books. Daris went after some balls to kick. Valencia and Bella were singing “sleep bunnies” and doing the actions.

It was time to head inside again so we we all sat together for group time to sing some nursery rhymes and read a story. We sang with Miss Otavia “Head, shoulders, knees and toes”, “Row Row your boat” and “Twinkle, Twinkle little Star”.  We all sung and did the actions together. Isla loves “Row Row your boat”, she always give her hands to do the actions while smiling along to the song.  For story time, Miss Otavia read “Spot Says Please”. Using our best listening and concentration skills as she began to read. Once the story was finished, we sung “Bee, bee bumble bee” as we took turns to wash our hands and clean up for lunch and rest time. As we do this name recognition more often, we will all be saying our own names soon.

For lunch today we enjoyed a yummy Make my own Mexican Fiesta. After we finished our lunch some of us enjoyed our bottles on the pillows before laying on our mattress, drifting off to sleep to some soft relaxing music. For afternoon tea we enjoyed Wholesome Pumpkin, Chia and Oatmeal Bars. Our afternoon play was child led with outdoor experiences to burn off some energy.

We have had a wonderful Friday.

Have a lovely weekend and see you all very soon!!
