Hello families,
Miss Melinda arrived in time to sit with her friends for morning tea. This morning we enjoyed scrambled eggs, bread and banana…yum! After we cleaned up we enjoyed some free play while Miss Mel set up our activities for the day.
We split our class into two groups for indoor/outdoor play. Inside Mel sat with Delilah, Peyton and Avery to do some block painting. The girls expressed lots of excitement as they walked over to the table and saw the red and yellow paint and all different types of blocks. Dipping the blocks in the paint the girls began to press the blocks down on the paper, “wow” Delilah said. Peyton was intrigued with the paint and held it up for a closer look. Avery kept reaching out for more paint to dip her blocks in. Miss Mel spoke about all the different shapes and colours we could see.
Outside Mel set up some water play, our babies have been loving water play and this morning Mel noticed August was interested in the dinosaurs. To extend on this todays outdoor activity was washing the dinosaurs. Augie, Liz and Halle were excited to head outside with Miss Danica, they splashed away in the water and using face washed cleaned our little dinosaurs.
We later rotated and Augie, Liz and Halle sat with Mel painting. Augie enjoyed the block painting however he also enjoyed smudging it all around with his fingers and squishing to cold paint through his hands. Liz loved dipping her blocks in the paint saying “more, more” Halle kept standing up to get more paint, Halle also enjoyed this sensory experienced.
It was Peyton, Delilah and Avery’s turn for water play, Delilah wasn’t too keen, she preferred to explore the yard. Halle and Peyton loved splashing around, cleaning the dinosaurs and throwing them onto the grass….it was lots of fun.
After our activities we kept the classroom door open and our babies had a choice if they wanted to explore inside or outside. Delilah and Halle brought the soft blocks into the class room they sat bouncing on them giggling to one another. Avery brought a bike inside and scooted around the room before heading back out again. we all enjoyed climbing and as always we all had turns going down the slide.
What a busy exciting day we have had in babies 3. We were all exhausted. We cleaned up and packed away all our toys. Miss Mel played our “clean up song” and we all helped. There were hi fives all round. Miss Mel and Miss Danica were so proud of our babies helping, We had so many helpers pulling all the beds out as well.
Miss Mel closed the blinds and put on some soft relaxing music to help our babies relax through lunch and wind down ready to rest our bodies.
This afternoon we will head back outside for bubble play and to continue to explore our outside environment.
