Hello families, welcome to Monday in Babies 3,

Today we welcomed Winston, Parker, Isla, Valencia, Jhye, Theo and Matthew. We were so excited to see all our friends with an exciting day planned.

While over in Babies two this morning Winston brought the fireman’s dress up outfit over to Mel, holding it up. Mel asked Winston If he wanted to be a fireman? Winston smiled. Wow Winston what a cute fireman you made. Over in our room there was lots more roll playing especially in home corner. Jhye, Theo, Winston, and Isla where cooking away and pretending to eat imaginary food with the spoon after mixing it around an around. Theo was filling his bowl up with water as he admired his reflection in the mirror, he also kept answering the phone, chatting away Theo brought the phone over to Mel to speak to his mummy. Winston sat with a dolly pretending to feed her and change her nappy and Parker placed the stethoscope around her neck pretending she was a doctor.

Parker asked Mel for “Shark”. We all became very excited and began doing the actions to Baby Shark, “sleeping bunnies” and “Head, Shoulders, knees and toes. Showing off all our moves by jumping, twirling, and spinning around to the music.

Theo, Isla and Jhye also took some time to sit and look through a few books, Winston was pointing to “giraffes can’t dance” Mel pulled the book down off the bookshelf and Winston began looking through the pages. He came across a page with monkey’s Winston began making the monkey sound:” Oo, oo ah, ahh” He then picked up our soft toy monkey and gave him a cuddle.

It was time to clean up our room to the “clean up” song, wash our hands and sit down at the table together for our morning tea, today we enjoyed coconut banana split.

After morning tea, Winston, Theo, Jhye and Parker sat engaged in the transport toys. Last week Miss Mel brought in a car garage to extend on our babies interest in transport. They loved using their concentration and hand/eye coordination to place the cars on the ramp, watching them roll down to the bottom.

We found our hats, put our sunscreen on and ventured outside to explore. As we were exploring Miss Mel set up a fun activity. Extending from our interest in cars and trucks over the last few weeks Mel planned a painting experience using butchers’ paper, purple and green paint, the soft block ramps and of course assorted cars, trucks and a fire engine. We were all very excited as we watched the paint dripple all over the paper. Using the cars, we pushed them down the ramp and watched as they made car tracks as they rolled through the paint. Winston, Valencia, Jhye, Theo, Matthew, Parker and Isla took turns driving their cars all over the papers. It was so much fun and a little messy.

We cleaned up and continued exploring, today we demonstrated our gross motor skills on the bikes, sliding down the slide, building big towers with the soft blocks and climbing into in and out the empty tubs.

It was time to head in side and clean up for lunch. today we had one of our favourites, sausage rolls. After we finished our lunch some of us enjoyed our bottles as we drifted off to sleep on our mattress to some soft relaxing music.

Our afternoon play was child led in our outdoor environment. As it becomes cooler we will head inside to babie’s two to continue exploring our environment.

Thank you for an amazing start to the week babies.

See you all again very soon.

Miss Melinda and Miss Otavia. xxxx
