Hello Babie’s 3 families, welcome to our day,

This morning we welcomed Isla, Valencia, Matthew, Bella, Franka, Jhye, Parker, Oskar and Dorijan with lots of cuddles as they settled into their learning environment. Today Oskar joined us for another fun transition day.

Our morning began outside in the yard as we welcomed our friends. The sandpit was very popular. Isla, Adeleine, Bella and Parker were busy filling up the buckets with sand. Jhye and Dorijan were pushing the diggers around and threw the sandpit. Miss Mel showing them how to dig up the sand using the digger. It as time to head inside for some free play before morning tea.

Adeleine, Dorijan and Isa sat on the mat and began taking turns building towers together. Bella soon joined her friends, demonstrating their fine motor and hand/eye coordination as they stacked them on top of one another until Isla knocked them all down!! Then we all started again.

Bella, Dorijan and Valencia were pretending to each ice cream, “mmm yummy” Bella said before spotting the red phone. Bella picked up the phone and began talking to her mummy. Parker was over in the dolls corner. She had put the dolly to bed and was giving her a bottle. Dorijan sat engaged in play with the animals, making them stomp around on the grass. Jhye found the dress up box and decided he would like to wear the teddy bear ears.

We all sat on the mat with Miss Otavia as it was time for morning tea. We sung ‘Bee, bee bumble bee”. As we said or tried our very best to say our names, we stood up one at a time to wash our hands and sit down for morning tea, today we had banana split and fresh fruit.

Today, Bella, Parker and Valencia stayed in Babies 3 until 10am we said goodbye to our little friends as they headed over to Toddlers 1 and we welcomed Oskar from Babies 2 for his very first transition day!  Oskar settled in well especially during lunch and rest time. He did so well on the big boy bed and drifted off to sleep very quickly with a little pat.

For group time today we all sat together outside with Babies’ 2. Miss Mel read “Go Giggleosaurus” All our friends used their best listening ears as Mel read along. Our favourite part was “Roaring” like dinosaurs” Isla, Dorijan, Jhye and Matthew had a closer look at the book, pointing to the purple dinosaur as they demonstrated their loudest dinosaur ROAR!!! After the story we sung “if your happy and you know it”, “Open shut them” and Wheels on the bus”. Adeleine, Jhye and Franka joining in on doing the actions.

Extending on the dinosaur story Miss Mel read earlier this morning we joined Babies’ 2 to explore dinosaurs through hands on play with a imaginative dinosaur small world.  Using the sensory tray, sand, bark, leaves, dirt, dinosaurs, and dinosaur sensory cards. Miss Hansani hid all the dinosaurs and dinosaur cards and our friends using their fine motor dug away the sand and moved the leaves till they found all the dinosaurs. When Adeleine and Jhye found a dinosaur, they held them up to Mel and roared just like a dinosaur. Jhye enjoyed having a closer look through the magnifying glass. Dorijan also enjoyed searching through the sensory tray looking for the dinosaurs. Franka had a little play however she was more interested in exploring the yard. Matthew came back once everyone had finished. Mel re hid all the dinosaurs and Matthew looked for them, he also liked looking through the magnifying glass as he searched. Jhye joined his friend Matthew and they played together, roaring like dinosaurs and giggling.

Sensory play facilitates exploration and naturally encourages children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate, and explore. Spending time stimulating their senses helps children develop cognitively, linguistically, socially, emotionally, physically and creatively.

After the activity our friends enjoyed more time exploring the yard before lunch. Franka was bouncing on the donkey sharing smiles with her educators. Adeleine was climbing across the wooden bridge she also enjoyed bouncing on the bridge, her friends Dorijan and Jhye joining her while Mel sung “everybody bouncing” Isla was climbing on the steppingstones and Matthew was still holding onto the magnifying glass looking at different objects through it to have a closer look.

It was time to wash our hands for lunch and rest time. We sat on the mat with Miss Lara to sing our transition song “bumble bee” s to take turns meeting Miss Mel in the bathroom where she was waiting to assist us washing our hands. We then walked over and sat at the table for our yummy lunch, today we enjoyed pizza rolls and salad.

After we finished our lunch some of us enjoyed our bottles on the pillows before laying on our mattress, drifting off to sleep to some soft relaxing music.

Our afternoon play was child led with outdoor experiences

Thank you for a wonderful Tuesday babies, see you all again very soon.
