♥ GOOD AFTERNOON BABIES ONE ♥

In the Morning Miss Mel, Miss Tatianne, and Miss T’arn welcomed Jordan and Fletcher into the Babies 2 room. As it was a bit quiet this Monday morning we stayed and played in the B2 room for a little while before heading into our classroom for bottles, naps, and morning tea. Jordan was happy playing on the mat alongside friends from b2 and b3. Fletcher had a big cuddle with Miss T’arn before going to explore the classroom and ending up in the home corner.

For our group time today, Miss T’arn did 1;1 group time as there were not many moments where both Fletcher and Jordan were awake together. In these 1:1 moment we read “That’s not my wombat” where the children could feel the different textures in the book. We sang “Open Shut them” “Row row your boat”, and “Twinkle Twinkle Little star.” Fletcher was rocking back and forth while holding Miss T’arn’s hands when singing row row your boat. Jordan was listening to twinkle twinkle so curious and watched as Miss T’arn did the actions. Miss T’arn used this 1:1 time to do more facial recognition with Fletcher and Jordan. Pointing to each feature on their face and saying “eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.” After our small group time/ 1:1 time together we did “Bee Bee Bumble Bee” to help with name recognition and language development.

This week we are extending on our sensory and Fine Motor activities as we feel the children really enjoyed this last week. Miss T’arn and Miss Shae have planned so many different sensory and Fine Motor experiences for the children this week. We can not wait to see how they respond to each activity. Today’s activity was playing with sponges. Miss T’arn filled a container up with warm water and added some sponges to the water. Fletcher was the first to do this activity. He did not even hesitate to put his hands in the container and pull out a sponge filled with water. He squeezed the sponge in his hand and all the water came out. He was bobbing up and down with excitement as he kept putting the sponge back in the water and pulling it out to squeeze. He would put the sponge up to his mouth to try and drink the water from it. Fletcher enjoyed this activity and liked watching the water come out of the sponge when he squeezed it. When Jordan was doing the activity, he was hesitant at first. He watched as Miss T’arn picked up the sponge and squeezed it, he watched as the water fell into the bucket. After encouragement and observing Miss T playing with the sponge, Jordan reached in and grabbed on of the sponges and was waving it around in the air and giggling. He then would drop the sponge and grabbed onto the edge of the container and push it backwards and forwards watching the water and the sponges splash and sway in the container. He was having so much fun doing this and the water splashing up at him when he would push and pull it. Jordan liked to squeeze the sponge in his hands and feeling it with his fingers. This was a fun activity. We have so much more planned for this week, we can’t wait!

Have an amazing evening!

♥ Much Love Always, Miss T’arn ♥
