Good afternoon families!!

Welcome to babies two ♥

This morning Miss Hansani and Miss Tatiane welcomed Olive, Emma, Austin, Oskar, Forrest, Chester, Zeppelin and Asher. We started our day exploring outdoor experiences as usual. Miss Tati blowed some bubbles and Miss Hansani encouraged children to chase the bubbles and pop them to warm up our bodies. Olive, Oskar, Chester and Forrest were so excited to pop the bubble running around the yard. Then Forrest decided to pop the bubbles using his nose that landed on to the grass. Austin also joined with Forrest to po them using his nose. They were crawling fast to find and pop the as fastest as they can. Forrest then enjoyed rocking on the dinosaur while Zeppelin was watching him laying one his tummy. Forrest was so excited to show the dinosaur Miss Tati saying ‘’Dinosaour…look..look..’’. Zeppelin showed his gross motor skills by rolling on the grass and finding his favourite soccer balls to let us know that he is having such a fun time outside. Emma refused to wear her hat and decided to wear a basket as her hat on her head. She was so excited to show everyone the basket on her head. She would walk around with the basket on her head smiling and waving. Chester enjoyed reading a book in the book corning laying on a comfy cushion under the shade. Chester’s favourite area is the book corner, and he loves having quite times to read different books. Asher loves sand pit so headed to the sand pit straight away and enjoyed digging holes and filling sand to the baskets and then decided to show his gross motor skills by climbing on the climbing frame and walking on the balancing bridge. For morning tea, Children enjoyed magic breaky muffins

Thank you everyone for dressing up yellow for the ‘’ARE YOU OK’’ day. We planned the experiences inspired by the colour of ‘’ARE YOU OK’’ day to include all the children with this event. For the group time Miss Danica read few books from ‘’Spot’s Library’’. Miss Danica read five stories called ‘’Spot loves sports, Spot loves his teacher, spot says please, spot loves his grandma, Spot goes to the library’’. Spot is a yellow puppy dog and that was the reason we decide to include this story for our group time. Miss Danica read one story at a time and at the end she offered children to have a close look by sharing the five books between all the children.

As an extension for the story time and for the ‘’Are You Ok’’ day, we decided to encourage children with engaging an art experience related to the story. So, Miss Hansani set up the table with paint brushes, yellow colour, some glitter and shredded papers. Children used their own paint brush to dip in the yellow paint and spread all over the paper. They enjoyed creating dots, lines and circles to fill the paper with yellow paint. Then next step was the most exciting part to stick the shredded papers on the paper. Children grabbed small pieces of papers using two fingers and slowly stick them on the paper by using paint as glue. Then we sprinkled some glitter to make it beautiful and shiny. This experience helped children to practice and demonstrate their fine motor skills and creativity. It turned into a beautiful yellow artwork. For lunch, we enjoyed crispy potato rosti and chicken pom poms. For afternoon tea, we will be enjoying fresh apple, pear and raspberry compote.

We practice our self-help skills by using forks and spoons for mealtime to feed ourselves, put the hats on, find the drink bottles and wash our hands. Our new goal is encouraging children to put their dishes, bibs and drink bottles away in the baskets after mealtime. We encourage children to find their own cot now. We encourage older children to walk to the bathroom and use the stairs to reach to the changing mat and wash their hands after changing nappies by themselves.

For one-on-one time, Zeppelin engaged with practicing his fine motor skills. Zeppelin enjoyed touching and squeezing the sensory fabric. Chester practiced some colours such as red, black, purple, orange and yellow. We used flash cards with different shapes and colours for this experience and Chester loved running his fingers on the lines of the shapes. During one-on-one time Olive practice simple sentences such as, ‘’Can I have some water please, Can I go outside please, I’m hungry, can I go to the toilet please’’.

Please pack some clothes for warm weather as it can get really warm in the afternoon now.

Remind – Please fill the bottle receipt on the front desk for each

Much love Miss Hansani and Miss Tatiane….
