Good afternoon families,
This morning we welcome Bella, Daris, Oskar, Loki, Braxton and Austin with a big hello and cuddles. We started our day enjoying by exploring babies one which we loved reading the wonderful books, made some music with the musical instruments before moving into our room. We had free time exploring the room which Oskar and Loki enjoyed playing with the train tracks, pushing, and rolling the train along the track before moving onto completing the transportation puzzles. Daris and Bella enjoyed playing with the blocks and making tall towers before knocking them over and giggling together. Braxton enjoyed some cuddles with Miss Hansani before having some morning tea. At 9am it was time to head to the bathroom to wash our hands, then pushing our chairs to the table to sit ready for morning tea. For morning tea, we had enjoyed yogurt with granola, strawberries, blue berries, and watermelon. Braxton, Oskar, and Bella enjoyed the yogurt and granola while Daris and Loki loved eating the watermelon. It was wonderful the children pointing and encouraging other to try. They all tried the blue berries, and most were unsure however we will continue to encourage trying through out the week.
Once finishing morning tea, it was time to explore the outside yard, which we enjoyed the small side yard between babies one and two as it wasn’t wet. While outside Miss Jess had setup painting activities for us all to complete. The first activity was a train foil painting using yellow and purple paint. The second activity was a free painting using blue, green, yellow, red, and pink and once the painting has dried Miss Jess will cut it out into a car shape, as we are focusing on transportation this week. Bella and Daris loved rolling the train along the foil, as they enjoyed feeling the foil and wet paint mixed. Braxton, Austin, and Oskar all enjoyed the free painting, as they picked the colours they had used and loved dipping the paintbrush into the paint container. This allowed the children to have independence while painting, also allowing then to express their emotions through the paint. Everyone exploring the outdoor environment, they loved playing with the bikes, cars, walker and climbing on the jungle gym, as they built their physical strength. It was then time to come inside and wash their hands and sit down at the table. While waiting for lunch we had started singing Baby Shark which everyone started singing along and clapping to the beat. Once lunch arrived everyone hungry and ready to eat. Daris, Bella and Loki loved the tofu which was wonderful to see. Oskar and Braxton loved eating the rice with soy sauce. Everyone also ate pineapple, beetroot, peas, corn, cucumber, and carrot. Miss Jess sat with everyone and encouraged children to try the food, as she had a bowl herself. This afternoon we hope to go outside into the small yard if it isn’t raining otherwise, we will be exploring the room inside with our friends.
We want to remind parents there is a Parent Educator Meeting coming up on the 1st of June 2021. This is for all parents to have the opportunity to talk with Miss Hansani about your children’s development and to have a look through the observation books. This would be wonderful as you can asked many questions and communicate what more you would like your child to develop at this age. The times for parents to book in is between 3pm and 5pm. Each family will be given 15minustes with Miss Hansani on this day. Please book in what time you would like by written on the booking sheet which will be displayed on the bag shelf.
