Hello Riversdale families,

Happy Friday!

Kindergarten enjoyed a lovely play outside to start their day off, seeing all of their friends arrive in Pink and Red colors and outfits to celebrate love at Kindy today! There were some beautiful craft and flowers that represented love that we all had access to in our playground this morning thanks to Miss Nads 🙂 What an awesome start to our day!

As we transitioned inside, Kindergarten joined for our morning group time. Miss Tatyana told us all about how today is a special day for some… Chinese New Year! We spoke about the significance and story behind this celebration, and what each of our Chinese Zodiacs were based on the year we were all born. Most of us are Monkeys while only a couple of us are Roosters. During group time, we also completed our daily calendar as a class and discussed what we had in store for today.

After re-energizing our bodies with some morning tea, Kindergarten enjoyed some inside play within the classroom and some planned activities ready for us to engage in 🙂 Mr Andrew prepared a special activity what involved coloring in our Chinese Zodiacs and making face masks out of them which extended on from our chat this morning.

We also got to do an arts and craft activity in celebration of Valentines Day! There was lots of Pink and Red collage paper, gluing, cutting and painting! We each had to draw a heart using our heart shaped stencil and could decorate our hearts as we wished using our pink and red materials. We then had to cut out the heart and glue it on a separate piece of paper, as each of our Kindergarten friends got to say a special message or say something they like about that person. This was a great way to practice lots of skills as well as be in the spirit of love and being kind 🙂

After our fun inside, we got to participate in our weekly Funky Feet dance lesson! We joined in with Miss Jen to dance and follow the actions to lots of fun songs! We had a blast!

It was then time for us all to prepare ourselves for lunchtime and a quiet rest. Thank you Kindergarten for an awesome Friday, it was a perfect way to end our week 🙂

Happy Chinese New year and Happy Valentines Day friends and families, we hope you all have a happy weekend! See you all next week 🙂

Kind regards,

Mr Andrew and Miss Tatyana
