Hello Riversdale families,
Welcome to a thriving Thursday!
Today, we all enjoyed an inside day with our other Kindy 2 friends! We played amongst our classroom while we waited for all of our friends to arrive. It was a busy and social morning 🙂
We then all joined for our morning group time with Miss Tatyana. We welcomed one another and completed our daily calendar. We also did a card game that reflected on our celebrations of Chinese New Year! We revised all of the Chinese Zodiacs and what number each animal was based on the story of the animal race. We numbered them from 1-10 and had to recognize what each animal was. During group time, Kindergarten class got to experience a special Show and Tell that Arlo had brought in to show us. He got up and spoke to the class about the two special Elvis bears that his grandma collects. He showed us the bears singing and playing the guitar to Elvis songs, we all listened well and enjoyed what Arlo had to share; thank you Arlo!
It was then time to transition into the bathroom to wash hands for morning tea. Kindergarten enjoyed some delicious slices and fresh fruit to get us started for the day! This was followed by a fun free dance in the room with music and the singing and dancing bears, giraffe and doggy! We all copied the animals moves and had a little dance party with our singing dancing animals 🙂
Following on from our chat about the Chinese Zodiac cards, Kindergarten played a game outside where we each raced around the playground and got to represent each animal, just like the story of the Great Race of the Chinese Zodiacs. We loved participating in this game, it was so much fun!
Back inside the room, it was time for us all to attend the Tooth Booth Dental Show! We joined for a fun and exciting show that helped explain the importance of how our teeth work and the importance of keeping them healthy! Lots of our friends got to go up and be helpers and act out or dance throughout the show; it was awesome to see! Great job everyone 🙂
It was then time for us all to prepare for lunch and then have a quiet rest. Our day has been full of fun and excitement and we’re all super lucky to have the access to all of the things we do! Thank you Kindergarten for a fantastic day!
