Hello everyone and welcome to our blog today!

We began our Tuesday morning with some outdoor play and tried to bring out a few more resources as we have a four senior classes combined together in the mornings. It allows for lots of play between different age groups and considering the needs of others who may be younger or smaller than us. Fun activities included some jumping obstacle courses to test our bravery and confidence as well as bikes to ride, the outdoor kitchen to explore and water play by the pump.

As we came indoors we gathered together to mix the ingredients for our special morning tea this morning as it was PANCAKE TUESDAY! The children enjoyed figuring out the different measurements like a 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/4 cup, teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon. We discussed what each ingredient does for the pancake mixture like give it flavour, texture, “fluffiness”, binding etc. They took a while to cook so well done Kindergarten class for being so patient. They polished off all the toppings of strawberries, blueberries and maple syrup as well.

Afterwards we were outdoors again for lots more physical play including some bean bag catching and balancing games in the tree house or some tag around the playground. The children have enjoyed the nice mild weather and have been sure to find shady spots when it gets too hot.

Mr Andrew brought an electronic scale to extend on our science topic of weight, mass and measurement. We had to measure a few different objects to see how much mass they had and then write it on the board. It was a great activity for following a process and learning about numbers at the same time. Well done Kindy class for being such keen scientists.

In the afternoon we plan to explore the garden next to the Kindergarten class and get into the tree house again for our jumping games.

Remember to sing the permission slip for the “tooth booth” show if your children is attending this Thursday and look out for another permission slip for an aquatic show coming in the near future.
