Welcome to the Kindy 1 blog today.

With the special NAIDOC week show happening in the Kindy 1 class we were outside for most of the morning where we enjoyed some cricket, soccer, basketball games where we were recording the scores and trying to challenge ourselves. We also played the lava game where the children had to jump through the hoops and remember which hoops were safe and which were lava. It was a great test for memory and problem solving skills.

The NAIDOC show today talked about acknowledging the people who were in this country before us. We learned about the meaning of the Torres Strait Island and Aboriginal flags and a new dance for our acknowledgement of country. We learnt about the deeper meaning of dot paintings and the process of how they are made. We then started to explore the wider world and other cultures as well before returning to Australia to end with an Aboriginal celebration dance.

After lunch we plan to set up some group games such as go fish, snap, air hockey games and also some cue tip dot paintings of some of the things we saw at the show.

Hope you enjoyed reading our blog and we look forward to more exciting learning and fun tomorrow! See you emails for the daily program and blog photos for today.
