Hello families and friends…
WOW… The third week of January already… Where does the time go… Kindergarten 2 are settling in so beautifully to their new environment…It makes me so happy that they have built some wonderful new friendships and have displayed confidence and independence throughout the day as they learn and play. This morning Miss Shannon joined us for a play and the children really enjoyed her company as she spent time being creative with the playdough with the children. This week in Kindergarten 2 we are continuing to focus on our fine motor skills as the children were given the opportunity practice scissor cutting both with the playdough and paper. The children were keen to take turns and displayed very good hand/eye coordination skills as the cut through the paper and along the drawn lines. We decided to extend on this experience with more fine motor activities as the children utilised the 30cm rulers to draw lines and create shapes. Some friends then returned to the scissor cutting experience and decided to cut along the lines they had created with the rulers. Well Done friends…
This week we are also discovering more about each other and our families as the children will be given the opportunity to engage in one:one conversations with Miss Leesa as they share their likes and dislikes and favourite things as we fill out our ‘All about me’ sheets. We thought it would be fun to share photos of our families and pets as well – so please bring along or email a family photo to kindy this week if you can please…Thankyou…Group time today we shared a story about children describing what they would like to be when they grow up… The children confidently shared their thoughts ideas about what they would like to be when they grow up. Today we had a Doctor, Teacher, Ballerina and Batman. We will continue on with this ‘All about me’ theme for the rest of the week. We also had fun practicing or self-help serving skills today as we utilised the large silver spoon to scoop our own yogurt this morning and we are also getting much better at helping to make our own beds for rest time…
Well, we have had a super fun day and look forward to many more throughout the week…
Until next time…Love Miss Leesa
