Happy Monday families and friends…
This week in the Kindergarten 2 Room we are going to be learning more about our favourite dinosaurs, due to the children’s ongoing interest with dinosaur play. Today we shared a story for group time entitled ‘Dinosaur Rescue’ a book about a group of dinosaurs that attend to all different types of emergencies in their rescue vehicles. The children also engaged in role-play with the dinosaur figurines as they created a dinosaur park with mountains and shrubs for the dinosaurs to eat. Tomorrow we will be creating an outdoor dinosaur park in the large trough using a variety of natural materials for the children to continue on with this play.
Show and tell time today Emerson brought along one of his favourite superhero floor puzzles to share with his friends. This experience was great to encourage the children’s team work and problem solving skills and to extend on their current interest in puzzle play. Armin brought along a soft toy kitty that he proudly shared with his peers as he explained the cat was like the one he saw in a movie on the weekend. Thank you boys for sharing with us all today…
This morning we also continued to practice our self-help skills as the children utilised the large tongs to serve their own fruit and also scoop their own yoghurt for morning tea. The children have really enjoyed asserting their independence during this meal time experience.
Miss Haley returned today for our Monday Yoga Session. The children were very excited to see her return as they all joined in and practiced their animal poses and breathing techniques. Other play and learning experiences today included fine motor drawing using crayons, textas and the highlighters, constructing and creating patterns with the connector blocks and role-play experiences in home corner – cooking, having a picnic and identifying and negotiating roles during this play…
Well… We hope you enjoy the photos… Until next time…
Love Miss Leesa and Miss Shannan
