Hello families and friends…
What a super fun day of learning and play in the Kindergarten 2 Room today. This morning after our ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ our friend Zachary shared some very special news during show and tell – that his baby sister had arrived. Zachary proudly showed off photos of his little sister as he shared his news. The children then sang along to some of our new favourite songs including ‘Home among the Gum Trees’ and ‘Little Cottage in the Woods’. This week we have also been singing our ‘Days of the Week’ song and identifying the daily weather conditions. We all agreed it was a very hot and sunny day today.
Play and learning experiences today we continued on with number and counting games. The children practiced writing and tracing numbers 1-5 on the whiteboards and chalkboards and we then joined in for a group game of SNAP with the playing cards. The children have been doing so well with turn taking and following directions as they play alongside their peers and engage in small group experiences. Other experiences today requested by the children included sensory play dough play, water colour painting, puzzle play, transport play and role play in home corner.
Group time today Ryan chose the story ‘Harold finds a Voice’, a story about a parrot who goes on an adventure outdoors and discovers all sorts of noises and sounds in the city that he decides to copy when he returns home.
