Welcome to spring everyone! We enjoyed the lovely weather by exploring the creek and cleaning it out some more so that the water could flow all the way through.
Today we celebrated the new season by doing some spring paintings to compliment our winter ones we did a few months ago. They children loved getting messy with the finger paint and the results were awesome. We had lots of discussions about the changes that happened in this season like new flowers blooming and new animals being born.
We also celebrated Hazel’s 5th Birthday today! She brought along some cupcakes that we enjoyed after our morning tea. We sung happy birthday and even had a huge dance party where we had some of the children’s favourite songs (including gangnam style on repeat for about 10 miniutes!).
After our dancing and painting we headed outdoors where some children enjoyed a tennis lesson with coach Trevor and others did some catching games in the tree house. Afterwards everyone chose their own outdoor activities including water play in the creek, games of cricket and chasing games on bikes and up the hill.
In the afternoon we plan to do some different styled races like jumping, hopping, three-legged to test out our balancing skills.
