Jingeri!
This morning in the big yard, Hendrix cooked Miss Shannan a delicious pumpkin soup, complete with toast to dip down into the soup, yummy! Owen spent some time exploring the yard this morning and noticed that the two really big trees in the mud kitchen looked a bit like a huge doorway for people to walk through.
Upon a request from for more craft, Miss Shannan placed lots of different craft objects all over the table and the children quickly raced over. They demonstrated their imagination and creativity as they made lots of colourful and sparkly creations.
Ivy and Rosie explored the shells today. They carefully picked them up, lifting them to their ears to try and hear the ocean. When they found ones that made ocean noises, they excitedly brought them over to Miss Shannan to hear as well.
Miss Jess came for our Chinese lesson today. We learnt the Chinese words for the members of our families and even sang the Chinese version of the song ‘mummy finger, mummy finger, where are you?’.
Miss Shannan brought out a new game for the children to try on the veranda. It was a counting game, where the children had to spin the spinner and whatever number it landed on, that’s how many lily pads they had to move their frog up the board. Whoever reached the end first was the winner. The children showed their determination and persistence as they practiced and helped their friends to practice their counting skills; first taking time to recognise the number that was spun and then to count it out. We also had a dance party out on the veranda after the children requested some music. They wiggled and giggled as they sang and danced along to the music. |
Back inside the classroom, Ella enjoyed acting out the outer space characters. Her favourite was the robot. Luna enjoyed exploring the planets. She first examined the paper-mache planets before moving to the mat and attempting to match them to the pictures. Harper asked lots of questions about the different planets, and so Miss Shannan put an educational space video on the computer. Within the video there was a story of the different planets, what colours they were and how they all travelled around the Sun. The children were all very intrigued.
Thank you everyone for another wonderful day!
Miss Shannan😊
