Jingerie parents and friends and happy Wednesday! Today in Kindergarten Two we were joined by our friends Riley, Ivy, Hendrix, Luna, Emerson, Ryan, Millie and Harper!

We started off our morning as per usual playing outside with all our friends from the other classes. It was soon time for morning tea. So we headed inside, washed our hands, and put our hats away ready to eat. This mornings morning tea was fruit bread, strawberry jelly and bananas. It was a big hit! During morning tea, Miss Jade sat with our friends and discussed what they learnt yesterday, as she wasn’t in their class. They told her all about the Rainbow Serpent and NAIDOC week. They children took turns describing their own take of the story, and their favourite parts. Harper and Ryan said their favourite part was when the water came and everyone was happy.

After morning tea, we had some free play and craft time. Emerson, Riley and Ryan sat with Miss Denise to do an alphabet puzzle, Luna and Harper took interest in the doll house, and Ivy and Millie enjoyed the shop/home corner area. Miss Jade organised a Rainbow Serpent craft where the children were able to paint their own with water colour!

Today we also had a very special show planned. So once it was time, Kindy 2 joined with Kindy 1 to watch the special Aboriginal Show. The children engaged and learned about the history of Australia, and even went on an exciting journey around the world visiting all kinds of different ancient indigenous cultures. These included Spain, Mexico, Egypt and The Torres Strait Islands. The children loved re-enacting all the different traditions and singing songs of each culture. They even knew some of the Torres Strait Islander songs.

Soon after our show lunch was ready so we came back to our room and settled down to eat and have rest time. All most all of our children are transitioning out of sleep time, however we still practice rest time to calm down and recharge our bodies. This is an important time for our class to enjoy some peace, quietly grab a book and take a break.

Thanks so much for the amazing day Kindy!

Miss Jade 🙂
