Hello Families of the Kindergarten children and welcome to our awesome day.
This Morning Mr Andrew and Miss Jess welcome a scoring total of 16 superstar friends. What an eventful day it has been today and I look forward to telling you about it.
The morning started outside with all children having a great big play before mother nature decides to change it on us. Miss TJ did some awesome face paintings on children either on their arm or face!! The bikes and scooters are always a hit with the children as they enjoy racing each other as well as doubling their friends on the back of the bikes. Many laughs and smiles are always shared in the outdoors. After the morning fun outside, the Kindergarten children came to sit down on the green mat outside to join Mr Andrew and Miss Jess. Miss Jess did the roll call to make sure all children are accounted for. Mr Andrew then begun talking about how we are now in AUTUMN! Mr Andrew told us a few facts about Autumn and showed us how the leaves change colour on the trees. Soon after we all crept inside like mice, washed our hands and found a seat at the table for morning tea. For morning tea today we set it up on plates in the middle of the two tables with tongs, the children were able to self serve themselves as well as practice their fine motor skills by using the tongs to grab the food that they wanted. Children enjoyed self serving themselves and it will definitely be more often.
After morning tea, we all helped tidy up before we sat on the green mat ready for group time with Mr Andrew! Children helped change the calendar and the season too! Charlotte had a very special show and tell for us to all see. Charlotte had a beautiful hat that was made from a Pandanus tree it looked amazing! We appreciate charlotte sharing that with us and the children carefully had a look at the hat too in amazement that it was made from a Pandanus tree thank you Charlotte. After group time children were able to self select activities that they were interested in.
Harper, Henry, Ellie, Charlotte, Alex, Carter, Xavier and Coen enjoyed doing the leaf art activity. Children had to outline their chosen leaf and as soon as they did that they then painted their leaf from the colours, yellow, orange, red and brown. Children really enjoyed doing this activity. Eva, Sonni, Rikki and Sunni sat at the reading circle with Mr Andrew reading a book BUT as they were reading they matched the faces of the characters with the faces on the feeling board. All children were really engaged in this and recognised the faces well. Wyatt, Kerim and Theo liked playing in the dolls house, pretending to be dinosaurs crashing on the roof. Leo and Sunni were interested in the different bugs they could see on the table with the bright light! They were so amazed at all the different ones. Reid helped gluing in the art book, he did a very good job at making sure there was enough glue to stick onto the paper. Children explored different activities throughout the room. Children who are signed up for soccer got to have some fun practicing their kicking skills outside!!
For the afternoon depending on the weather we may or may not get to go outside BUT we will always HAVE FUN no matter what.
