Due to the wet weather, we were unable to explore the yard this morning. So, we had free play inside with cars, playdough and train tracks being the favourites. We also chose to read books on the mat.
During group time, as we were learning to count and puppets are popular in prekindy from few days, we did a song together of “Five little worms” using the finger puppets. Thank you to Miss Amy, as we used her resources to do the counting.
As we are celebrating Chinese New Year, we planned the activity of painting lanterns on the paper using fingers and red paint, and then using the golden glitter to give a festive feel. On the table we set up the geoboards, which helped children with their fine motor skills and creativity. We also had playdough and magnets set up on the table.
Children chose to play in the home corner in free play, build train track and used the quite zone as well. This time give children to explore their surrounding and time to play with their peers.
As its Friday, we got Miss Jenni with us. We did some dancing and she played games with the children. Children enjoyed the dance, it helps children in their physical, emotional wellbeing.
