Welcome to Wednesday’s Blog 😊

Today we welcome Harvey back to Kindy who was super excited to see his new classroom and his friends! This morning we invited Harvey up in front of the class to introduce himself to the friends who haven’t met him. Harvey told us that his favourite colour is blue and that he is 3 years old! We missed you very much Harvey! The group then sang loud and proud to ‘Colour of Australia’ before learning about extending on learning about recycling. The children have been really interested in the follow ups on recycling which is another way we can take care of our planet. Today we focused on the recycling symbol which we learnt that we could find on recycled items. We looked for the symbol on egg cartons and milk bottles that we had. The children now know to look for the symbol on items when sorting through rubbish.

During activity time the children coloured in their own recycle symbols to extend on recognising the arrows going round in a triangle. Pre Kindergarten also had fun role playing a lot today with theirs friends.   doctors with the doctors kit and using the Dinosaurs as patients and also role playing construction workers with the construction tools on the wooden blocks. It was great to see the children having positive interactions, sharing the equipment and working collaboratively to create story lines.

Before lunch we had a group time on the mat where we did some belly breathing to get rid of our monster and we read two fairy tale stories, ‘Billy Goats Gruff’ and ‘Little red riding hood’.

Don’t forget that if you have any photos of ways your family is sustainable such as recycling, saving water by having water tanks, solar power, worm farm, growing vegetables/fruit and herbs etc then please share with us as it will be great to get family input in our save the earth extensions and investigations.

Enjoy your afternoon
