Good Afternoon Pre-Kindy Families,
Happy Wednesday 😊
The weather gods have blessed us, and we have had no rain today which means outdoor fun!
We started off our day with a few different activities, the children are loving the kinetic sand so of course they asked for that to be out, we had some children wanting to read stories and others wanting to play in the home corner.
When playing with the Kinetic sand Miss Tiffany was engaging in conversation around the rain and clouds which we learnt during group time yesterday. Myla, Ryan and Avila creating clouds and watching the rain drop from them, as well as building walls to then bust down.
Outside we had a few organised activities, Miss Dom did some art focused work where she had a group working in a collaborative manner to create one big painting. She was using yellow and white paint colours to highlight the current weather of the day.
Our group time today was a bit different as Miss Bek was out of the room. Group time today saw Miss Tiffany with a small group and Miss Sauri with a small group to give more 1 on 1 attention to the children. Miss Tiffany was focusing on similarities and differences between animals, having a wide range of animals out on the floor, asking children a range of questions our size, speed, looks, colours getting children to think about what animals we could group together because they were similar. Following on from that we then drew a picture of our favourite animal.
Miss Sauri was doing number recognition getting the children to recognise by pointing out and verbally saying numbers 1-10, making this a fun activity through playing with paper cups and making pyramids.
If the weather holds up we will look todo a nature scavenger hunt this afternoon as well as many more activities.
