“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”

Good afternoon and happy Friday to all Pre-Kindy families

Today has been a very special day at Kindy as we all have commemorated those who gave their lives to allow us to be where we are today. Today at Kindy it was ANZAC day.

We started our morning as we do every morning welcoming our friends into the outside yards where there are always so many activities and cool things to play with. Here today at Kindy we have Harry, Amelia, Charlotte, Ariana, Harper, Cohen, Bjorn, Romney, Conall, Vaughan, Latika, Aleksander and Lincoln. This morning we got to play with some new soccer nets which the children all really enjoyed, we were having bike races as well as story time!

For morning tea we had yoghurt, granola, peaches and bananas this seems to be one of the children’s favourites as we managed to finish it all πŸ™‚ We then had a little bit of time of free play before getting ready for our ANZAC service. Miss Emma planned such a lovely service with all of the teachers helping out. Our service run like so;

Welcome, Anzac Ted story time, Poppy planting, reading of the Ode, a minute silence Β and then we sang both Australia and New Zealand’s National anthems.

The children did so well through the service, they really loved planting the poppies in the sand pit. Following on from our service we then had outside play where Miss Jen visited us to do some dancing! All Kindy classes got involved as we had a super fun dance party in the treehouse. We then got ourselves ready for lunch and rest time.

We hope that everyone enjoys their long weekend, keep safe and we look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday for another fun week πŸ™‚

From Miss Bek and Miss Tiffany
