Hello Pre-Kindy families, and welcome to FUN-tastic Friday! First up, for the parents who attended our Bushfire BBQ last night, we thank you for coming, and hope that you all had a great time. Once again, we were very fortunate, with the rain staying away as we got to play on our newly refurbished outdoor space.

Whilst outside this morning, we had lots of fun with waterplay, filling up watering cans and watering our flowers, vegetables and plants growing in the outdoor space. This kept the children very busy and focused for at least an hour and provided a great opportunity to talk about ripe vs. unripe vegetables/ fruits, and how plants and trees have root systems that absorb water. Miss TJ also utilised her body/face painting skills to place Australiana pictures on the children – lots of requests for Koalas or the Australian and Aboriginal flags in the lead up to Australia Day celebrations.

In addition, today the children enjoyed the following play-based learning experiences:

  • Easel painting with a variety of paint colours – William made broad brush strokes and large circular shapes, Kaylee also painted lots of circles too, whilst Ellie, Zahra and Harvey made bold abstract statements!
  • Keeping the indoor home corner kitchen “closed for renovations” 😊 and spontaneously becoming creative with Mobilo, foam squares and stickle bricks – at one stage we had a beauty salon, which then very quickly became a busy hospital; both Miss Livia and Miss Donna received excellent care from Ellie, William, Ivy, Harvey, Maia, Zahra, Kaylee and Jamal!

We hope you enjoy today’s photos. Have a wonderful long weekend and stay safe!

Love from Miss Donna and Miss Livia XX
