Hello and welcome to Friday everyone. The rainy weather has continued today, however, we did get a brief opportunity to play outside for 20 minutes this morning at the undercover sandpit and under the shade of a nearby Eucalyptus tree. This was a great opportunity to release some of our wiggles and jiggles and provided us with a chance to have some fun waterplay (which was thoroughly enjoyed by Ivy, Ellie and Zahra), make stews and cakes with sand or fill buckets with wet sand to make sand castles (Maia, Harley, Kaylee, Harvey and William were very involved in this play). The undercover swings were also a favourite with Harvey and Ellie.

Once we were back indoors, we had our Funky Feet dance class with Miss Jenn. Oli was a standout today when he gave us his rendition of Highland kicks – well done Oli! Maia, Zahra, Kaylee and Jamal also busted some serious dance moves!

Prior to lunch, Ellie and William had a turn of reading storybooks to all our friends – Ellie chose to read “Little Red Riding Hood”, whilst William chose to read “Witch on a broom”. It was so very brave of them to read out loud to everyone!

In addition, today the children enjoyed the following play-based learning experiences:

  • Creating a group collage made from Gerberas, Carnations and assorted leaves – such a wonderful “scentual” experience, as the flowers smelled very nice, and the result looks beautiful – great cooperative teamwork Pre-Kindy! Please have a look at it on our wall
  • Setting up and playing with the wooden train set and accessories
  • Practising our pre-writing skills by drawing along curved, circular and pointed dotted lines with textas
  • Blue Playdough with plastic scissors and mini tin foil baking trays

Please enjoy today’s photos. We hope you all have a lovely and safe weekend. Stay dry!!

Much love from Miss Donna and Miss Livia XX

#P.S. In your child’s locker you will find a “Valentine’s Day” family heart. We would love it if you could decorate it along with your child, and return it to us ASAP so that it may be displayed in our room to spread love, smiles and happiness!
