Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to Thursday! We all had a lovely day today with our friends. We made dragonflies with Miss Manuela (great to have some more cutting practice- we LOVE using scissors in our room). We also got to build lots of complex towers with wooden blocks – Zander made a small city with lots of different buildings – what a great engineer you are!.Asher and Ellie also enjoyed building with the blocks.

We used our gross motor skills in our Arakan Martial Art class (and also our listening/turn-taking skills). Indi, Marlie and Kaylee showed excellent listening skills today and were very careful to follow Mr Daniel’s instructions. It was also wonderful to see Ivy join in on the Arakan class for the first time today – her confidence is really growing in the Pre-Kindy room. Lily showed some fantastic running skills today, as did Chi and Maia. Ollie and Harvey also were very fast on their feet!

We extended our repertoire of singing songs from other cultures today by learning “Funga Alafia” – a Nigerian song of welcome…but our Torres Strait Islander lullaby “Inanay Gupu Wana” in conjunction with the tapping sticks was still a huge hit! We love that song. Please don’t forget that there are copies of the songs we are currently singing/learning available on the parent information table in our room.

Until tomorrow everyone, enjoy your family time together.

Love Miss Donna and Miss Livia xxx
