Good Afternoon Pre-Kindy families

Happy Hump Day and thank you for joining us and having a read of todays blog.  This morning we welcomed Harry, Colton, Harrison, Myla, Bjorn, Ryan, Lachlan, Ivy, Madalyn, Harper, Vaughn and Latika. We also welcomed Miss Bek back into the classroom today as she is feeling a little better 🙂 This morning was a little cold and a little gloomy but we are lucky that the rain has held off allowing us to start our morning off in the outside yard.

Our transition from outside play to morning tea went great this morning 🙂 Prior to the transition the children kept asking if morning tea was here as they have been so excited to try all the new foods on the menu! So our transition went swimmingly as the children were so eager to eat! This morning we had “Happy Morning Breakfast Pizza” this was a mixture of fresh fruit (Blueberries, strawberries, watermelon and Banana) served with yoghurt and granola. The children loved this! They enjoyed eating the watermelon as a pizza slice as well as the addition of blueberries.

After morning teas we re-washed our hands as they were all covered in fruit juices and then found our way to some activities/areas of the room todo some play. The play of choice were puzzles, animals, and home corner. Harrison, Vaughn, Myla and Colton found themselves in the home corner playing families, creating meals for one another, Harrison also ended up playing the “baby” to which he managed to fit himself in the cot whilst the others rocked him. Madalyn, Harper, Harry, Lachlan, Bjorn and Ryan spent some time with Miss Tiffany where we did some learning of the alphabet. We had white boards, flash cards and were practicing our fine motor skills with pen holding practice as we attempted to write the letters on the flash cards.

We then got ourselves ready to head outside, we all help Miss Tiffany clean up the classroom. Our friends today did a really good job at cleaning the classroom today, they all helped with the different areas they were playing in. We are trying to get the children to be more aware of when playing with toys they need to pack away before moving on to the next activity, so today was a great success. We then headed outdoors to partake in some fun activities 🙂 we had a cool obstacle course set up in the tree house, we had friends in the sandpit digging holes and burying toys and we had friends racing around on the bikes.

For lunch today we then had deconstructed sushi bowls served with a salad bar! This was a hit with all of our children eating the brown rice and quinoa, some giving the tofu a try and all children eating from the salad bar. Today at rest time we tried something different as we have quite a few friends who no longer sleep, so we had these children resting on pillows quietly reading, whilst those who often have a sleep were on their beds, however today was a day that none of the children wanted to sleep so instead we had our quite voices on and spent some time doing some quite activities, drawing and playing with the magnetic building pieces. This afternoon may see us indoors for afternoon activities as the rain may be upon us!

We hope you all have a great afternoon and we look forward to seeing more of our friends for a busy Thursday.

With love, Miss Bek and Miss Tiffany
