Happy Tuesday to all of our Senior Kindy families 😊 Today we had our biggest class yet with 12 happy little vegemites.
The rain began to pour this morning, so we made our way inside and onto the mat where we met two of our new friends, Noah and Emmerson. Both of the new friends took turns in sitting up in front of the class and introducing their names. We were very impressed by how confident and brave they both were. We showed our new friends our Hello song which tell us that “when you meet someone new, say hello”. We also had a group discussion this morning. Miss TJ said “How was everyone’s weekend?” and here were the replies…
Ayla- “I climbed a mountain”
Zachary- “A circus”
Ryan- “Went with Mum shopping”
Emerson- “Movie world”
Tate- “Mummy got shopping”
The children then transitioned off to the activities, waiting for Miss TJ to sing their name. Ayla and Taran asked if we could do drawing with the coloured pens. Zachary and Joseph asked for the cars to be pulled out. The children enjoyed each other’s company and were sharing nicely. Over the next week or two we will be focusing on sorting items. This is going to help us match items and help us when we are packing away as the children need a bit of help putting items where they belong. Today we played a sorting colours game using different coloured bugs and matching them with the same colour shape on the paper. Senior Kindy loved naming the different bugs and were amazing at matching the colours. Some even telling us what colour they had in their hands.
Before Lunch Miss TJ told the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears using pictures on a white board. We had the children’s full attention and they were so engrossed in the story. The children laughed and screamed with excitement through out the story and wanted TJ to read again.
Hope you all have a lovely afternoon
