Good Afternoon Senior Kindy friends!
Today we welcomed Lincoln, Alanis, Luca, Nayla, Henry, Henry, Poppy, Zahra, Banjo, Archie, Grace. Parker, Goku, Lachlan, Hudson, Dominic and Lilly into the room. The children spent the morning outdoors which was set up with a variety of sports. There was soccer nets, soccer balls, basketballs and basketball hoops, the children were riding bikes, jumping through hula hoops and playing in the creek. We have noticed an increase in structured sporting activities, so will continue to plan for this!
Before morning tea, we sat on the mat with Miss Bec who led our group time. Today we spoke about our different body parts, introducing our knuckles, our kneecaps and our eyeballs. The children found this really interesting. We then sang “five cheeky monkeys” and “hello how are you”, before transitioning to wash our hands and sit down for morning tea.
After morning tea, we sat on the mat with Miss Aaliyah, while Miss Bec and Miss Tayla set up our outdoor classroom. Today, we combined with Pre-Kindy outside where we had a range of activities. On one table, Miss Bec had playdough, using the tools to manipulate and shape it. On another table we had a sensory play activity. Miss Bec sat with the children that chose this activity and spoke to them about different animals and their habitats. We had blue and green rice representing the grass and the ocean, then we had shells which represented the beach/sand. Miss Bec would give each child an animal and ask them where they think that animal lived. Hudson, Poppy and Archie absolutely loved this activity! We also had the easles and a painting table set up for the children to freely paint. Archie painted his mum, Nayla painted her family, Poppy painted her puppies, Lachlan painted a park. It is great to see the children combining their creative and imaginative skills. Up on the treehouse, we had a dance party singing and dancing to our favourite songs.
It was then time for us to transition indoors where we sat and had our lunch and have our quiet rest time.
