Happy Monday Friends and Families
Congratulations to all of our Kindergarten children for Graduating last Friday afternoon! It was a lovely evening and all of the children were so brave standing up in front of a big crowd. Only a couple more weeks until big school!
Senior Kindy and Kindergarten children arrived to kindy today with big smiles and ready to explore the yard. We had lots of fun under the shade in the sand pit, mixing sand and water together in the buckets and swinging on the swings. The children enjoyed driving each other around on the bikes and cooling down over at the water trough filled with boats and cups.
Coming inside for group time we shared with the class our adventures over the weekend…
Liam was very excited to share that his family have adopted a new dog. “He’s a Fox Terrier. He’s black and white. His name is Leroy”.
Jacob said that he went to the beach on the weekend. He went in the water and made sand castles.
Layla went swimming in her pool. “We had a BBQ with sausages”.
Elliott- “I had dinner outside. I had a BBQ and went to my friends birthday. There was rainbow popcorn and it was a pool party”
Sounds like everyone had a lovely weekend. There has also been quite a bit of discussions on Christmas as a few friends have started to put up their Christmas trees. To get the Christmas spirit started in the class room today we did two fun Christmas crafts. Miss Emma introduced a fun Christmas tree craft where the children had to fold small green strips of paper and try and place them into a tree shape. It was a great challenge for the children and they really enjoyed this experience.
Over on the other craft table the children were given scissors, glue and Australian animals Christmas paper to cut out and use as collage. The scissors were a great opportunity for the children to practice their fine motor skills by focusing on their scissor grip. Collage is always great for the children to use their creative side and they get to choose what they use and where they place them.
Elliott asked if we could place puzzles on the table. His friends all agreed and had a challenge where they raced each other, seeing who could finish their puzzle first. Over on the mat Bobby, Wolfy and Jacob explored the construction toys using their imagination to create. Home corner was set up as a shop today. Ellie was working on the front desk using the till. The children used the dress ups and props to get into character.
Miss Gabi was back this week for Yoga. Today we went on an adventure to the beach. We learnt some new poses to row the boat, drive our jet skis and surf on our surf boards. The children are getting better each week at balancing their bodies and holding the poses using their core.
Before lunch we read a Pamela Allen story called ‘The Toymaker And The Bird’ which was a lovely story about a wonderful bird who sang songs along to the toymakers violin everyday. The toymaker loved the bird so much that he wanted her all to himself so he put the bird into a cage. The children all agreed that the bird would not be able to fly and would not sing anymore because she would be unhappy. In the end the Toymaker set the bird free. What a lovely story!
Have a great afternoon
