HAPPY FRIDAY Senior Kindy Friends and Families!
The children began their days outside this morning in the beautiful sunshine exploring the learning spaces set for them, which encourages their physical gross motor skills. We headed inside to start our daily routines with the children beginning with washing our hands ready for morning tea, singing a couple of our favorite songs. The children are doing great at recognizing and remembering words and actions too! 🙂 We encourage self-help skills and independence skills here in the Senior Kindy Room which the children are responding well to!
After morning tea the children self-selected some of our new toys to explore such as the wooden and cork road tracks which were a definite favorite today! Some of us chose puzzles to practice their hand-eye coordination skills, concentration spans and fine motor development 🙂
We also had our weekly dance lesson with Miss Jen from FUNKY FEET. All of the children look forward to this fun extra curricular activity happening here in Riversdale once a week. Miss Jen had lots of energy helping the children practice colour recognition, follow the leader games, dance freeze, rotation and consideration with their space and encouraging turn taking with our friends 🙂
