Happy Monday!

This morning we welcomed Kezia, Orion, Rosie, Henry, Poppy, Dominic, Nayla, Luca, Banjo, Aria, Zilo, Toby, Lincoln N Lincoln W, Brayden, Rumi and Archie into care. We also welcomed back Miss Aaliyah who has been away sick all last week.  Our friends spent their morning outdoors engaging in a range of activities. We played a traffic game around the bike track, which involved some children riding bikes and some holding green and red hula hoops. When the red hula hoop was up, it was a red traffic light, meaning for our bike riders to stop. When it was green, it meant go.

Once all of our friends had arrived, we headed indoors where we sat on the mat for group time with Miss Connie. Today, Miss Connie sang the ABC’s with us and helped us form shapes with our fingers. We then skipped to the tables for morning tea.

After morning tea, we sat on the mat talking about our weekends and what we did. Luca went to the beach, Henry went on a bike, Poppy went bird looking. We then transitioned to activities. Today, we decided to do indoor outdoor play. Indoors we had children cutting and learning to draw different shapes. We also tried to draw our first letter of our name. Outdoors, we had Miss Connie, where we went car watching, naming the different coloured cars as they drove by. We then watched the rubbish truck come, watching it tilt up and down with the bin. Outdoors, we sang different songs, learning to recognise numbers and letters. We counted to 20 seconds  as we watched how long it took for the bin to lift into the air. Counting and learning letters in a fun way, helps children stay interested and excited to learn.

We then had Miss Hayley come in for yoga, helping us control our breathing and calm our bodies before we headed outdoors for a run around before lunch.

What a great start to the week!

Love Miss Bec, Miss Tayla and Miss Aaliyah x
