JIngeri!
This morning we welcomed our friends Goku, Lachlan, Henry. L, Parker, Hudson. Zahra, Nayla, Grace, Archie, Poppy, Luca, Banjo, Alanis, Dominic, Lincoln and Henry W. During the morning time session we first completed our usual daily morning circle time to acknowledge and welcome all students and educators who arrived for Tuesday’s lesson. Today our children sat down with Miss Bec and Miss Tayla to read a story called “Wombat Stew”. During this specific time, we enjoy reading stories to our students as it allows our children to further extend on their vocabulary skills and enhance their social skills by sitting with one another and following the storyline along with the educator. We continue our circle time, standing on our tippy toes to sing a collection of nursery rhymes from our children’s liking. Parker suggested we sing “Itsy Witsy Spider” while Poppy recommended we sung “If your’e happy and you know it”. Our children were extremely interested in this experience as it allowed our children to stand on their feet and keep themselves engaged by singing with one another and dancing with the educators.
Just after we completed our circle group-time and morning tea, our children got themselves ready for another amazing show ran by our fellow friend Mr Lucas. Riversdale was luckily enough to have Mr Lucas come along to discuss and share some more dream-time stories and even spoke with the children about the famous Didgeridoo instrument and the history behind it. He created a wonderful performance that left our children dancing with one another and learning to sing songs etc. It was such a beautiful experience for our children to endure. We saw many smiling faces as our children bonded with one another throughout the show and enjoyed the wonderful dancing and singing with Mr Lucas. As the performance came to an end, our children remained outside for the hour just before lunch-time and rest-pause period. During this time our children were extremely engaged in a series of outdoor play-based experiences. These experiences being a unique, physical developmental obstacle course, the bike track race with scooters and bicycles around the grass hill and creating a miniature river with our rocky water fountain by our garden.
As our rest-pause period and lunch-time completed, we awoke from our midday sleeps we then transitioned for our usual afternoon tea before we made our way outside. Just after our afternoon tea, we slipped on our hats, shoes and sunscreen for an afternoon in the cool outdoors whilst we awaited for our families to arrive. Overall, we had an amazing day outdoors with such an incredible performance made by Mr Lucas. We hope you have had a Terrific Tuesday and we will see you next time. Thank you 🙂
Miss Bec, Miss Aaliyah & Miss Tayla.
NOTE: As you are all aware, we have transitioned to a new menu for this month. This is a great way for the children to experience new tastes, flavours and textures. They are loving it so far! To make it fair for all children, we ask that no lunchboxes are to be brought into the room as we are finding the other children are becoming upset and feel like they are missing out. We love to include all children here at Riversdale, and we would love all children to eat food. We assure you that if your child does not like the food, we will provide an alternative such as sandwiches, crackers, fruit etc. Thank you!
