Happy Tuesday families and friends…

This morning we started our day off in the great outdoors engaging in sensory sand play making mud pies in the sand pit and outdoor kitchen. The children were very excited to then transition indoors to celebrate out friend ‘Connor’s 3rd Birthday’ which was today! Connor kindly brought along a yummy chocolate cake mix to bake for his birthday and all his friends joined in to mix, stir and create delicious little cupcakes. Miss Danica displayed all the ingredients as the children helped identify the eggs, butter, milk and cake mix. The children observed the ingredients mixing together to create a chocolate brown colour as they all had a turn stirring the mixture. Miss Danica then carefully poured the cake mix into the patty pans, ready for the oven. The children were very excited to know they would be sharing the cupcakes for afternoon tea.

The children then transitioned back outdoors to make more pretend birthday cakes in the outdoor kitchen. Connor and his friend Myla collected pots and pans along with water, bark and sand to mix and stir together to make more cakes. Connor said, ‘I’m making another birthday cake’ as he proudly stirred the mixture. What a fun extension on this learning experience.. Other play experiences today included transport play, puzzle play, role play in home corner – pretending to have a picnic and grocery shopping.

Until next time…

Love Miss Leesa, Miss Danica and Miss Shanaya
