Hello families and friends and Happy Tuesday!
Today in the Senior Kindy room we continued on with learning all about ‘healthy foods’ as we shared a funny rhyming big book about sharing fruit with our friends… Yarn Time the children identified their favourite fruits to eat in the book including red apples, green grapes, cherries, oranges, bananas and blueberries. We also discovered that not all fruits are sweet and that some our sour like lemons and grapefruit. To further extend on this – the children excitedly gathered at the table after morning tea to engage in play with the fruit and vegetable counting cans with Miss Danica. The children poured all of the items onto the table and then practised their counting and sorting skills as they carefully identified and placed the fruits and vegetables back into their cans. Well Done Friends….
The children also kept busy this morning with playdough play creating star and flower shapes with the dough, role-paying with the pillows and blankets – making little beds on the floor for the baby dolls and creating patterns with the farm animal magnetic tiles. Group time today we decided to make a Big Bus on the mat with the chairs and all the children climbed on board as we sang ‘The Wheels on the Bus’. Then the bus transformed into a Fire Engine as we all joined in and sang ‘Hurry, Hurry Drive the Fire Truck’ as we pretended to rush to put out a fire in a tall building.
