Happy Tuesday!

This morning we welcomed so many of our friends who spent their morning in the yard. This morning we spent time playing connect 4, having picnics, climbing on the obstacle courses, bouncing on the see-saw and climbing on the hill. Once all of our friends had arrived, we headed indoors where we sat on the mat for a group time. Today, we  took turns of rolling the dice which had different actions on it. For example, Parker rolled the dice and we all had to do a dance. Alia rolled the dice and we had to pat our tummies. We then sang bee bee bumble bee before transitioning to the tables for morning tea.

After morning tea, we sat on the mat with Miss Connie and Miss Bec, singing songs such as pat the cat and “this way that way”. The children then got to choose whether they wanted to play indoors or outdoors. Outdoors, the children practiced their gross motor skills by attempting challenging obstacle courses and playing Connect 4 with Miss Connie and Tayla. Indoors, we had Miss Bec with some NAIDOC week activities. The children started off by trying to draw the Indigenous symbols such as “waterhole” in the sand. The children took turns at picking a symbol then drawing it. We then made our way onto the next activity where the children painted their sticks, and made a fire using them. They built up the fire using sticks and cellophane. We then did some drawing, where the children insisted that they drew a fire. It was great to see all the different interpretations of this.

We then finished off our morning by having a run around outdoors before it was time for lunch and rest time.

REMINDER: PLEASE BRING IN A FAMILY PHOTO FOR OUR FAMILY TREE. THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL CHILDREN TO BE THE TOPIC AND INVOLVED IN CONVERSATIONS ABOUT OUR FAMILIES.

What a beautiful Tuesday!

Love Miss Bec, Miss Tayla and Miss Connie x
