Happy Wednesday families and friends…

This morning the Senior Kindy children started their day in the great outdoors, exploring, playing and socialising with their peers. The children enjoyed practising their climbing and balancing skills along the jumping planks and stepping stones of the obstacle course. Myla and Christopher proudly showed off the gross motor skills as they confidently made their way along the planks and jumped down onto the soft fall mat. Lachlan and Millicent kept busy engaging in role play, cooking and making dinner in the outdoor kitchen. The children utilised the pots, pans, cups, spatulas and spoons as they poured and mixed sand, bark and water together and enjoyed sensory play. Bjorn collected his favourtie diggers and carefully placed them on the back of a 3-wheeler bike and went on a lovely ride all over the playground and over the bridge and onto the bike track.

The children then transitioned indoors to wash hands and prepare for morning tea. This morning the children enjoyed yummy custard, muesli slice and delicious fresh fruit. After morning tea the Senior Kindy children were excited to engage in play in home corner with more new resources Miss Leesa had collected over the weekend. Connor said he wanted to play with the cupcakes and new tea set. The children all gathered at the home corner table with Connor and engaged in role play as they made cups of tea and played make believe as they pretended to eat the cupcakes. Connor carefully poured cups of tea for all of his friends. Myla, Christopher and Millie then decided the cupcakes needed to be baked in the oven as they transferred all of the little cakes to the home corner kitchen for cooking. Lachlan utilised the wooden knives to pretend to cut his cupcake in half and share it with Miss Leesa. The children displayed beautiful sharing and turn taking skills during this play as they worked collaboratively together.

Bjorn and Connor then moved onto transport play with the emergency stations. The children pretended their was a fire and the police and fire engines had to come and put the fire out. Other play experiences today included working on the large ABC floor puzzle, expressing our creativity – drawing with the oil pastel crayons, and measuring and weighing the animal figurines in the buckets on the scales.

Yarn time today we sang some of our favourite songs with actions including Little Crocodile and Little Mousey Brown. Miss Shanaya shared the ‘Happy Birthday Peppa” story book as we celebrate some of our friends birthdays in Senior Kindy room this month.

Until next time…

Love Miss Shanaya, Miss Jordan and Miss Leesa
