Hello families,

This morning out friends enjoyed the beautiful sunshine exploring, climbing, balancing and role playing in the mud kitchen. Some of our friends participated in their weekly soccer lesson. Once all of our friends had arrived, we lined up in a choo choo train and headed indoors for morning tea.

After morning tea, we sat on the mat talking about today’s activities. We then sang some songs including the wheels on the bus, the ants go marching and the alphabet. Our friends loved singing along.

We then transitioned to the tables where we had a volcano activity. Miss Bec chose some special helpers to come and help her collect sand which would make the volcano. We brought the sand into the room and shaped our volcano. Our friends took turns in adding the bicarb soda, food colouring and the vinegar. Once the reaction had happened, the volcano fizzed out with red “lava”. Luca screaming “do it again, do it again”, Isabelle saying “that is cool”, Lachlan and Poppy saying “I love this”. The children wanted to repeat this activity multiple times, so we did.

We then moved on to a playdough activity. The children and Miss Bec used playdough to form different letters and shapes. We made the letter P for Poppy, T for Toby and Tua, A for Alanis etc. This was a good way for the children to practice letter recognition as well as the first letter of their name.

What a beautiful Wednesday with our friends.

Love Miss Bec, Miss Aaliyah and Miss Jin x
