Happy Monday families and friends. Today the children helped Miss Leesa make homemade maracas as a continuation on the children’s ongoing interest with sharing the ‘Alpacas with Maracas’ story book. It took us a little while to collect enough recycled bottles to make our home made maracas and the children were very excited to help Miss Leesa pour rice and glitter into the bottles. The children observed that the rice pouring into the bottles sounded like rain and when we had sealed the bottle with a lid the children were excited to shake the bottles and notice the rice and glitter mixing. The children then transitioned to the mat to dance and play their new maracas. Miss Jess then collected the rainbow ribbons to continue on dancing as the children jumped, skipped and hopped and made patterns with the ribbons as they swayed back and forth. Other play experiences today included baby doll play in home corner, building transport vehicles with the Poly m blocks and water colour painting… So much fun was had in the Toddler room today…
Love Miss Leesa & Miss Jess
