Happy Friday and Happy Valentines Day from Toddler One.

This morning the children were so excited to venture outdoors with the sun finally out. The Toddler friends enjoyed turns on the swing and sensory play in the wet sand. Some friends also practised their pedalling skills on the 3-wheeler bikes and racing the wheelbarrows around the bike track.

We then transitioned indoors for our  Acknowledgement to Country and Good Morning songs. Today the children chose open/shut them, Miss Polly, Wheels on the Bus and Incy Wincy Spider with actions. I think our favourite rhyme at the moment is definitely The Wheels on the Bus as we pretend to take trips to Movie World, Sea World, the movies and the beach. Miss Jen then joined us for Funky Feet Dance. Today the children did so well listening carefully to Miss Jen’s directions as we all joined in with Heads and Shoulders, musical statues, the chicken dance, crawling through the tunnel and stretching.

Miss Lyn prepared a fun Valentines Day craft experience as the children took turns decorating a love heart for the families with pretty heart themed stickers. The children demonstrated very good fine motor – hand/eye coordination skills as they engaged in this experience and were very proud of their achievement.

Yarn time today the children chose two of their favourite books from Miss Leesa’s shelf, “Who Sank the Boat’ and “Where’s my Dinner?’ The children continue to really enjoy stories for group time, particularly stories about animals…

Have a great weekend everyone…

Love Miss Leesa, Miss Lyn and Miss Thais
