Happy Monday families and friends…
What a super fun day of learning and play in the Toddler room today. This morning as we ventured outdoors we welcomed our new friend Bjorn to the Toddler room. We hope you had fun today and made lots of new friends Bjorn. The children are doing so well exploring the new outdoor playground as they practise climbing and balancing on the bridge and netting and racing down the big green slide. Today the children also enjoyed exploring the garden and taking turns pushing the wheelbarrows on the bike track.
Indoors after our ‘acknowledgment to country’ and transition to wash hands the children enjoyed a delicious morning tea of fruit and yoghurt. Yum! The Toddlers then emptied and packed their dishes on the bench, practising their self-help skills and then happily moved onto free-choice play. This week due to children’s interest we are going to be learning all about different types of ‘transport’. Today we shared two big book stories about ‘Big Machines’. The children discovered all different types of trucks, bikes, planes, boats, trains and cars. The Toddlers favourites included the fire engine with the big long ladder and the space shuttle. The children then joined in as we sang ‘Hurry, Hurry drive the Fire Truck’ and counted backwards from five to ‘blast off’ as we sang the ‘Rocket’ song.
Other play experiences today included building trucks and trailers with the Lego set, role-play with the baby dolls in home corner, sharing story books on the mat and painting on the bubble wrap to then print on the paper to create patterns.
