Happy Monday families and friends…
This week in the Toddler room we are going to be learning all about animals that live in the sea. We decided this would be a fun theme due to the children’s ongoing interest with sharing books about animals and animal play. This morning after our ‘Acknowledgment to Country’ we shared a story about all different types of sea creatures entitled ‘Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea’. The children helped identify a dolphin, sea turtle, octopus, crab and seahorse. The children were then given the opportunity after morning tea to paint their favourite sea animal using the story book as inspiration. Tobias, Bjorn, Banjo and Dallas decided their favourite sea creature is a turtle. Alek, Harry and Colton chose to paint a shark, while Ryan chose to painted a whale. They enjoyed this experience very much and were very creative in their interpretations.
We will continue learning all about the creatures of the sea as we share more books, sing songs, engage in art experiences and play games.
This week the Toddler friends are also practising their self -help skills during meal times as they show off their independence using spoons and forks to enjoy their meals.
Other experiences we enjoyed today were, Leggo construction, songs using our felt puppets on the felt board and yoga with Miss Hayley. See you all tomorrow.
