Hello families and friends…
Today the Toddler children had so much fun engaging in both indoor and outdoor experiences as we started some of our Easter celebrations. This morning we all gathered on the mat to discuss that the Easter bunny would be visiting soon so we had better get busy making some special Easter baskets and singing some Easter themed songs. We decided to start with ‘Sleeping Bunnies’ as the Toddler friends encouraged each other to lie down and pretend to sleep. The children then jumped up and hopped like little bunnies. We then practised a new song entitled ‘Mrs Bunny Looks Funny When she Twitches her Nose’. The children followed along as they stretched and hopped and flopped like Mrs Bunny. Some friends then joined Miss Leesa at the table for a painting experience where the children happily painted Easter baskets. The Toddler friends were very careful to paint the sides, bottom and the handle as they covered the baskets with pink and yellow paint. Some friends also painted and started decorating Easter crowns using felt pieces to collage.
Outdoor play today the children enjoyed taking turns on the swing, racing on the 3-wheeler bikes and engaging in water play. Some friends managed to get wet from head to toe as they played and poured buckets of water over themselves to cool off. Miss Thais encouraged the children to chase the bubbles on the grass and catch and count them as they played. Digger play in the sandpit was also great fun as the children piled wet sand into the back of the dump trucks and then pushed them through the sandpit to make piles of wet sand near the bike track. WOW… What a super fun day of learning and play in the Toddler rooms today..
Until next time…
Love Miss Leesa and Miss Thais
