Hello families and friends and welcome to Wonderful Wednesday in the Toddler room.
Today the children had a fabulous time engaging in both planned and spontaneous experiences during indoor play. The children were given the opportunity to express their creativity and use of imagination to engage in play with the green Christmas playdough. The children made Christmas trees and utilised the Christmas themed cookie cutters to create shapes including an angel, Santa, a reindeer, star and snowman. Miss Dakota engaged in baby doll play with the children in home corner. Miss Leesa gathered the cloth nappies and play bottles and bibs to extend on this play so the children could feed their baby dolls and put them to sleep.
Connor requested the “Macca the Alpaca Christmas Cracker’ story book for yarn time. The children have been very excited to engage in conversation about Christmas and Santa, as we also sing along to some Christmas songs and jingles including ‘When Santa got stuck in the Chimney’, ‘Jingle Bells’.
Ivy discovered our little ‘elf ‘ today peeking out the window into the playground watching the playground renovations. What a mischievous little elf he is in the Toddler room. I wonder where he will be tomorrow?
Other play experiences today included playing Sleeping Bunnies, Dingle Dangle Scarecrow, I’m a Little Teapot and follow the leader on the mat. Transport play with the train track and magnetic trains was fun and sharing books in book area.
Until next time…
Love Miss Leesa, Miss Lyn and Miss Dakota
