Happy Friday families and friends. Today in the Toddler room we started the day off with dancing on the mat to warm up before transitioning outside to play in the outdoor environment. The children had so much fun engaging in baby doll play, making patterns in the sand trough with the sea shells and climbing and balancing on the obstacle course. We then all worked together to tidy up the playground and move indoors for our acknowledgment to country and yarn time story… Today we shared a large picture book about Australian Habitats as the children helped identify the animals including a blue-tongue lizard, a tree kangaroo, a dingo, platypus and a bilby. We also continued on with painting the river rocks with the pretty water colours to add to our National Reconciliation Week room display. Miss Jen from Funky Feet joined us again today for our weekly dance session. The children practiced skipping, jumping and playing the shakers as they danced to the music. Child initiated play today included building farms with the Lego set, role play with the doll house and building a track for the magnetic trains. What a wonderfully busy day at kindy today…
