Hello families and friends and welcome to another fun-filled week off learning and play in the Toddler room. Today as a follow up experience for Harry and his peers the children were given the opportunity to collect and paint their very own river rocks from the playground. The children were very excited to explore the outdoor environment and choose their favourite rock and then return indoors to paint and decorate using the water colours. The children helped identify the colours as they painted and observed their rocks changing colour. The children also engaged in conversation about the size, shape and texture of their river rock as they painted. Yarn time today we shared a story entitled ‘Animals around the Billabong’ as we recognise ‘Reconciliation Week’ all this week at kindy. We will share this story plus other stories about the Aboriginal culture during yarn time this week. Other play experiences today included building and constructing with the Poly M blocks, sharing story books, crayon drawing, role play with the animal figurines in the sand trough and observing the trucks and diggers in the playground. Wow… So busy today… Until next time..
