Happy Friday!
Today we welcomed Isabelle, Ruby, Delilah, Thomas, Isabella, Lincoln, Lara, August, Abel, Myah. We began the day in the ”big Yard” racing around and practicing our obstacle course. Miss Thais also sang “5 little monkeys jumping on the bed” and the children jumped very high while they were practicing their counting numbers English and Portuguese versions.
Today we are celebrating “World Environment Day”. Ruby came to Kindy today holding her pot with her little plant that she planted with her mum at home. (present from mothers day). It’s growing a lot! All the children looked at her plant together and we can’t wait to see the flowers growing up! and Abel brought a book for us called “Earth” Miss Maddi read to us this morning and we talked about Earth day. Miss Maddi asked them “What’s Earth?” and we also talked about the sun, moon, and planets while we were looking at the images in the book.
Miss Jenni came to us all the children got really excited and they couldn’t wait to shake their bodies. We dance along together and all the children were so engaged during our group activity. Miss Jenni also asked one by one to go in the middle of the mat and do his/her own dance. The children waited very patiently for their turn.
For our activity today we did “Earth collage” with Miss Thais. We started with a circle drawn on the paper with a marker…this is the Earth and the task was to Glue the “land” on the Earth. The children used their ability by gluing little pieces of recycling magazines in the middle of the earth. You can check the activity today at the window in Toddlers One Room! They did so well! Was a lot of concentration skills during the activity. Miss Jordan also got our green clay and they could create the earth by manipulating the playdough while they were waiting for their turn.
Now it’s time to rest our bodies for more play outdoor this afternoon!
Have a lovely weekend!
Love Miss Thais, Maddi and Jordan
