Hi families! Happy Monday to you all.
Today we began our day outside with a big play outside as usual, mingling with our Toddler 2 friends, making new friendships and having conversations. We really enjoyed the sandpit, the bikes and of course water play.
It’s been so hot recently, so we’ve really been encouraging the children to apply their own sunscreen each time we go outside to foster independence and a sense of wellbeing.
This week is book week!! We began our week by reading the 3 little pigs, which the children absolutely loved and even joined in on. We then read one of our funny toilet books “Potty” which encourages the children to discuss themselves toileting. We then sung our good morning song, and then transitioned to the toilet to wash our hands for morning tea, using our name recognition song “bee bee bumblebee”.
At activity time we did a few different things, one activity was sponge painting using brown paint, and glue to stick brown rice and leaves onto our little piggies to follow on from our story. As well as a playdough station where the children helped to pour, mix and manipulate the playdough together for us for the week, they are getting really great at making playdough! We also had blocks, animals and the dolls house on the mat that the children self selected.
We had such a fun day today! Hope you all had a lovely day too.
